Le projet "Quartiers en Transitions" / The "Neighbourhood in transitions" project
L'initiative "Quartiers en Transitions" est un projet d’innovation interdisciplinaire mené par les étudiants du Centre Michel Serres depuis septembre 2020. Cette étude a identifié des pistes d’actions pour aboutir à des modes de vie désirables pour les citoyens et peu émetteurs de Co2.
/ "Neighbourhood in transitions" is an interdisciplinary innovation project involving students of the Centre Michel Serres since september 2020. This study identified action plans leading to desirable ways of life for the citizens, which would emit little CO2.
Présentation du projet
Le Centre Michel Serres forme des étudiants à l’interdisciplinarité et à l’innovation globale. Chaque semestre, deux projets sont soutenus par des partenaires commanditaires. Dans le cadre du projet "Quartier bas carbone" devenu "Quartiers en Transitions" et avec le soutien du Groupe Bouygues, de l'Union Française de l'Électricité - UFE, du Département des Yvelines et de la Ville de Saint-Germain-en-Laye, des étudiants ont pu réfléchir à l’empreinte carbone des quartiers et des usagers.
Un premier projet de septembre 2020 à février 2021 a permis de mettre en place une méthodologie globale, d’identifier les besoins de développement d'outils, et d’établir une feuille de route concernant l'engagement des acteurs et le développement des outils.
Un deuxième groupe d’étudiants a poursuivi le projet et a conçu entre mars et juillet 2021 un outil transversal et des outils spécifiques à la première étape de la méthodologie, avant d’établir un diagnostic.
De septembre 2021 à février 2022, un troisième projet interdisciplinaire, nourri de l’expérience acquise sur les deux premiers, portera sur la conception et le test des outils liés à la phase de programmation.
"Quartiers en Transitions" et le Nouveau Bauhaus Européen
Esthétique : "Quartiers en Transitions" entend améliorer la qualité de vie au sein d’un quartier.
Durabilité : l’équipe du projet poursuit l’objectif d’évaluer et contenir l’empreinte carbone d’un quartier et de ses habitants.
Inclusion : l’échelle du quartier permet de travailler avec les habitants, de favoriser le dialogue et la rencontre sur des problématiques communes.
"Quartiers en Transitions" promeut par ailleurs l’économie sociale et solidaire et s’inscrit également dans le Nouveau Bauhaus Européen par ses approches transdisciplinaire, participative et multiniveaux. Des étudiants de différentes disciplines ont en effet associé les habitants d’un quartier autour d’un objectif : apporter une réponse locale – à l’échelle du quartier et en tenant compte des spécificités de celui-ci - à un problème global – l’empreinte carbone.

The project
The Centre Michel Serres trains students in interdisciplinarity and global innovation. Each semester, two projects are supported by sponsors. Under the “low-carbon Neighbourhood”, then “Neighbourhood in transitions” and with the support of Groupe Bouygues, of l'Union Française de l'Électricité - UFE, of the Département des Yvelines of the Ville de Saint-Germain-en-Laye, students could think about the carbon footprint of neighbourhoods and users.
A first project from September 2020 to February 2021 led to the implementation of a global methodology, the identification of the needs in tools development, and the set up of a roadmap involving stakeholders and tools development.
Between March and July 2021, a second group of students continued the project and conceived a crosscutting tool as well as devices specific to the first step, before making a diagnosis.
From September 2021 to February 2022, a third interdisciplinary project, relying on the experience acquired during the first two projects, will deal with conceiving and testing devices linked to the programming phase.
“Neighbourhood in transitions” and the New European Bauhaus
Aesthetics: “Neighbourhood in transitions” aims at improving the quality of life in a neighbourhood.
Sustainability: the project team plans to evaluate and contain the carbon footprint of a neighbourhood and its inhabitants.
Inclusion: the neighbourhood level enables the students to work with the inhabitants and encourages the dialogue and meeting on common challenges.
“Neighbourhood in transitions” promotes, furthermore, social economy. “Neighbourhood in transitions” falls within the New European Bauhaus by its transdisciplinary, participatory, and multi-level approaches. Students coming from various fields associated inhabitants of a neighbourhood around a goal: respond locally – at the neighbourhood level, while taking in consideration its specificities - to a global issue – carbon footprint.
