Présentation du projet

L’identification d’opportunités pour la mise en œuvre des concepts de l’économie circulaire dans les secteurs de la construction et du bâtiment est l’objet de cette recherche. Un impact est attendu sur la conception même de bâtiments, cependant que les concepts de l’économie circulaire pourraient également mener à une meilleure sélection de matériaux et une meilleure gestion des déchets et ainsi qu’à une réduction des impacts sur l’environnement.

Le projet a débuté en définissant précisément la notion d’économie circulaire dans le secteur de la construction. Cette étude se concentre sur la sélection de matériaux et leur fin de vie. L’objectif de mieux gérer les déchets sera atteint en recyclant ou réutilisant les matériaux à la fin de leur cycle de vie. En sélectionnant mieux les matériaux et en prenant en considération l’utilisation de matériaux recyclés ou de seconde main, l’exploitation des ressources pourrait être diminuée.

Esthétique : Des architectes seront impliqués dans le projet pour proposer des améliorations dans la conception des bâtiments.

Durabilité : les méthodes d’évaluation du cycle de vie évalueront les améliorations possibles dans la conception des bâtiments. Les opportunités de réutilisation ou de recyclage des matériaux seront aussi prises en considération lors de l’évaluation.

Inclusion : dans ce projet de génie de l’environnement, architecture et conception de même que des considérations sociales seront intégrées.

Project

The purpose of this research is to identify the opportunities for implementing circular economy(CE) concepts in building and construction sector. There would be some changes in the design of buildings and the CE concepts could lead to better selection of materials and waste management and therefore, a reduction in environmental impacts.

The project was started with determining a precise definition for circular economy in construction sector. This study will focus on the selection of materials and their end of life. The goal of better managing the wastes would be achieved by recycling or reusing the materials in their end of life phase. Also, by better selection of materials and taking into consideration the use of second hand or recycled materials, there would be some reduction in resource use.

The “Positioning Wooden Constructions in the Esprit of Circular Economy” project and the New European Bauhaus

Aesthetic: For proposing improvements in the design of buildings, there would be some architects involved in this project.

Sustainability: The improvements in the design of buildings will be evaluated by Life Cycle Assessment methods. The opportunities for reusing or recycling the material will be also considered in the evaluation.

Inclusive: In this project environmental engineering, architecture and design as well as some social considerations will be merged.
