Established in 1886, École Boulle is one of the major leaders for the teaching of craftsmanship, applied arts and design in France. The school was established at the initiative of the City of Paris on Rue de Reuilly, not far from Faubourg Saint-Antoine, which was the historic centre of the furniture-making professions in Paris. Over time, in addition to the 13 artisanal workshops (with additional specialities such as jewellery-making, marquetry, ornamental engraving etc.), recognised diplomas in interior, product and event design and shopfitting were developed.

École Estienne, from the name of Robert Estienne, was founded in 1887 by the City of Paris with the goal of preserving the artistic tradition of bookmakers. Since its first graduating class in 1889, École Estienne has seen renowned artists in its halls, including the illustrator Lucien Fontanarosa, the photographer Robert Doisneau, the cartoonists Cabu and Siné, and the type designer Albert Boton. With over 115 teachers and 600 students, this free public graduate school has managed to adapt its courses by combining digital tools with traditional ones.

École Duperré, located in the heart of the Marais, has been linked to the women’s liberation movement throughout its history. From its foundation, artistic and technical training programmes were immediately at the heart of learning and have remained so. The school welcomes 500 students each year, whom it trains in the professions of creative, fashion, textile, space and graphic design, as well as in professions related to textile art such as embroidery, weaving and tapestry, and also in ceramics.

Louvre

 

Ecole du Louvre is a higher education establishment offering courses in French in archaeology, epigraphy, art history, the history of civilisations and museology. The school is located at the Palais du Louvre in Paris. Founded in 1882, it has the status of a public administrative establishment under the Ministry of Culture. It offers 3 levels of studies (3 years of undergraduate studies, 2 years of graduate studies and 3 years of post-graduate studies) and a preparatory class for the conservateur du patrimoine competitive exam.

Located on the left bank in Paris, Ensaama has a student population of nearly 1,000, from undergraduates to post-graduates. The college offers its students a wide range of programmes in design and contemporary crafts. Its curriculum has 8 major courses of study, 17 courses at the BA level and 6 post-graduate diplomas, including one in contemporary crafts. Product design may well be deeply rooted in the school’s DNA, but it also offers multidisciplinary courses so that its students become acquainted with all fields of design throughout their studies.

Based on the number of students registered, École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris-La Villette (ENSAPLV) is the biggest accredited architecture school in France. It fulfils all the missions of an architecture school, from initial training to the exchange of knowledge and practices within the international scientific and cultural community. It is an public administrative establishment (EPA) under the supervision of the Culture Ministry in the General Heritage Office.

Founded in 1982, ENSCI-Les Ateliers is a public establishment of higher education dedicated to industrial design. ENSCI Les Ateliers trains designers present in the new spaces of industrial creation where tomorrow's objects and activity are invented. As creators of economic and social values, they must be able to offer products that are both aesthetic and functional, with a high associated use value.

Institut Français de la Mode

 

Institut Français de la Mode brings together the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne (ECSCP) and IFM. Both schools have made their mark on the world of fashion. ECSCP has embodied excellence "à la française" since 1927 and IFM was a pioneer in fashion management education from 1986 onward. Today their union offers Paris a new, open-minded, visionary "grande école" which nurtures tomorrow’s fashion talents. Institut Français de la Mode is a higher education institution, a training centre for apprentices, a provider of executive education and a centre of expertise for the textile, fashion and luxury industries.

The Institut National du Patrimoine is an institute of higher education under the auspices of the French Ministry of Culture. The mission of the Institute is to recruit candidates through competitive entrance examinations and provide initial training to heritage curators for positions in national and local civil service and the government of the city of Paris. Another mission of the Institute is to select candidates again through a competitive entrance examination and train conservators-restorers authorised to work on public collections.

SKEMA Business School is a private establishment of higher education and research with the legal status of a non-profit association under the French "1901 law." SKEMA was founded in 2009 as a result of the merger between the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce, Lille and CERAM Business School, Sophia Antipolis. SKEMA is a community devoted to learning and the creation and transmission of management knowledge and practices. Since its founding, SKEMA has become a global school with a multi-campus structure and a large portfolio of programmes taught in English and in French.
